It is with a heavy heart that we report the tragic news of the death of eight students of Madonna University, Okija in Anambra state, who died in a fatal auto crash while on their way to Taraba State for Saturday’s election.

He further stated that the bus carrying the students and their parents was coming from Port-Harcourt.

Describing the accident as horrific, Mbam said the bus conveying the students caught fire and got burnt completely with all the occupants.

“The tragic news of their death has sent shock waves through their family, friends, and the Madonna University community.

” It is a reminder that we must always be mindful of the dangers of road travel and take steps to ensure our safety.

” It is believed that over-speeding and distractions due to intermittent sleep while driving are some major causes of such auto accidents.

“Road safety must be taken seriously at all times, and drivers should be extra cautious to ensure the safety of all road users.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and to the Madonna University community.

“Our prayers are with you during this difficult time,” Mbam said.
