A traditional ruler in Kogi State, Elulu of Mopa, Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun, on Tuesday declared open the 6th Kogi Built Environment Building Materials (BEBM) Exhibition in Lokoja.
Speaking, the traditional ruler promised to help the organisers to achieve the objective of the BEBM in Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
He also commended various companies and institutions participating at the fair, promising to work with BEBM’s theme which is ; Local Building Materials: Affordable Strategy for Housing in Nigeria and the Path to Economic Rejuvenation.
The Executive Director of Kogi BEBM Exhibition, Engineer Oladipo Makakese Bayode, said Oba Ibeun was appointed the Chairman of the three – day exhibition because of his track record.
The exhibition ends on 12th of December.
The opening ceremony was graced by professionals from the construction, housing, and engineering sectors, also had Federal Mortgage Bank (FMB), Nigeria Orientation Agency (NOA) amongst other Federal parstatals and agencies which attended.
Also present were representatives of security agencies, parastatals, traditional rulers, Kog State Government, Jakura Marble Industry, West Africa Ceramics Limited, Dangote Cement Plc, Mangal Cement and others.
Highlight of the event was the decoration of Elulu of Mopa, Oba Ibeun, as Ambassador for Housing by the FMB; Ambassador for Civic Orientation by the NOA; and Ambassador for Shelter by the BEBM.
Oba acknowledged the awards and appreciated the various institutions that recognised him.
