Kaduna -Kaduna State government said 645 persons were killed in terror attacks and communal clashes across the state in the first six months of this year.

The government in a security report released in Kaduna on Friday, July 22 said the killings were due incessant attacks by bandits and other terror groups.

According to the report signed by the state Commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Samuel Aruwan, 234 of the killings were recorded in Southern Kaduna.

” The killings and terror attacks were a major blow to the local economy of the state which affected crops and livestock farming across local communities in the state,” Aruwan said.

He said the attacks have also affected the livelihood of residents who were mostly peasant farmers .

The commissioner assured that the government will continue to play its role in ensuring the safety of lives and properties of Kaduna residents.

“The peace and participatory security management initiative by the commission will continue and stability will be restored across the state just like in some parts of southern Kaduna which used to witness unrest,” he said.

Aruwan said that Kaduna State government will take a cue from the Plateau State government in reaching a peaceful resolution between conflicting ethnic groups in the state. (vitalnewsngr.com)
