President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered all ministers political and other political appointees seeking to contest the 2023 general elections to resign immediately.
The order was handed down today, Wednesday, 11 May, 2022 during the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
The meeting is still ongoing as at the time of this report.
The order came few hours after the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja nulifies the decision of a high court, declaring Section 84 of the ammended Electoral Act as illegal.
