Ten people died in an auto crash that occurred on Lagos – Ibadan expressway in the early hours of Saturday

The accident, which happened around 4.30 am, also left two persons with severe injuries while seven others came out unhurt.

It was gathered that 19 persons, 13 male and six female adults were involved in the crash.

The accodent happened when the driver of a
Toyota Hiace passenger bus with registration number KLD539XA lost control of the wheels and hit the rear of an unmarked Mack container truck packed by the roadside.

Florence Okpe, Superintendent Route Commander and Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Public Education Officer for Ogun State Sector, who confirmed the accident, attributed the cause to road obstruction on the part of the truck and excessive speed by the driver of the Toyota bus which led to the loss of control and ramming into the truck at the rear.
