The United States Chamber of Commerce has invited President Bola Tinubu to participate in the closing bell ringing ceremony at NASDAQ (National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations) on Wednesday, September 20.
This was contained in a statement issued on Monday, by the US Chamber of Commerce.
It said the bell ringing ceremony will take place at NASDAQ’s headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
NASDAQ, based in New York, is one of the most active stock trading venues in the US by volume, ranking second in market capitalisation behind the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
The ringing of the closing bell signifies the end of a trading session on a particular day.
The US Chamber of Commerce stated that this event “ symbolises the significance of the economic ties between the United States and Nigeria.
“We hope this celebration and the discussion as part of the U.S.-Nigeria Executive Business Dialogue serve to further strengthen economic ties and enhance collaboration between the U.S. and Nigerian business communities.”
The US Chamber of Commerce represents businesses of all sizes across various sectors of the economy, fostering cooperation and engagement between small enterprises, local chambers of commerce, industry associations, and large corporations.
