Lokoja -Abuja Highway Totally Blocked As Accident Involving Fuel Tanker, Buses Leaves Many Dead

Vehicular movement to and from Abuja has become completely impossible as a result of an accident involving a fuel laden tanker and two passenger buses at Koton Karfe section of the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

The accident which occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Koton Karfe has led many passengers stranded on the road.

Vehicular movement to and from Abuja has completely become impossible for now.

An unspecified number of passengers in the buses were said to have also lost their lives while some were injured.

Idris Miliki Abdul, one of the trapped passengers told Vital News that he and others watch helplessly as passengers were being roasted alive by raging fire from the fuel tanker.

Koton Karfe where the accident occurred is in Kogi State while FRSC office in the town is just few metres away to the accident spot.

Abdul said there was no officials of fire service department in sight to put out the fire while some military personnel from a nearby check point who rushed to the scene could not do much.

He said men of the FRSC just arrived the scene but with no equipment to put out the tanker fire. (vitalnewsngr.com)
