Lokoja – Elders who have attained 70 years and above have been advised to take life easy and dwell more on things that soften their living experiences in the remaining years before their final day on earth.
Rev.J.O Ajewole, gave the advice during a thanksgiving service held in Sunday, August 6, 2023 to mark the 70th birthday anniversary of Mr Ayodeji Koleoso at the UMCA Church, Lokoja on Sunday.
The thanksgiving service was also to commemorate the 45the wedding anniversary of Mr Ayodeji Koleoso and his wife, Mrs Kehinde Koleoso.
Rev.Ajewole, who is also a legal practitioner, congratulated Mr. Koleoso for attaining the platinum age and wished him well in the years ahead.
He described the attainment of 70 years in the life of any human being as a spectacular favour and blessing from God, adding that life expectancy in many societies is at 45 years because of the various social and economic challenges facing people globally, particularly the under developing countries.
He called on those in the age bracket concerned not to allow the vanity of life to becloud their sense of judgment of what society expects of them at that age.
He added they should be much closer to God in their activities and be exemplary in their conducts for emulation by others.
Ajewole, reminded the elders that “life is vanity, so those who by special grace of God attain 70 years have no time to waste any more.”
According to him, anybody at that age should create time to reflect on their past, with a view to amending their actions where necessary
Speaking, the celebrant, thanked friends and well-wishers who turned up for the church service to celebrate with him.
Mr. Koleoso recalled that though, he experienced tough time in his journey of life, but thanked God for always being there to intercede on his behalf against the enemy.
In their separate messages , friends described the celebrant as love personified, noting that he is always committed to the needs of others and investing in human development among other virtues they cherished in him.
