Abuja – The Board of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has appointed Mr Adeoye Fadeyibi as its new Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer.
Fadeyibi, a manager with over 20 years of executive management experience, succeeds Akinwumi Bada, who served as AEDC’s Interim Managing Director since 2021.
Bada is leaving to pursue other personal business aspirations.
Before joining AEDC, Fadeyibi was the Managing Director of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) and he is credited with leading a team that turned around the fortunes of EKEDC by significantly reducing the company’s Aggregate, Technical, Commercial and Collection(ATC&C) losses, expanding its revenue base and delivering innovation in several aspects of the business.
In the same vein, Kassim Burkullu has been appointed as the new Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of AEDC, replacing Oluwafemi Zacchaeus, who had served as the Interim Chief Technical Officer.
Burkullu, a seasoned engineer and energy industry expert, brings over 25 years of cognate experience.
He joined the AEDC from Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) where he was Head, Corporate Technical Operations Services.
Meanwhile, the Board has expressed its delight that both Fadeyibi and Burkullu are joining AEDC and bringing with them exceptional abilities and invaluable industry expertise.
According to the board, “they will effectively complement the component of management team already in place.
“These appointments are necessary steps in further positioning AEDC towards efficiency in customer service delivery and ensuring the effectiveness of turn-around embarked by the new management of the company.
“Furthermore, these changes will ensure that the strategic vision of the Board is clearly aligned with how the Company operates going forward.”
The Board further stressed its commitments to the growth of AEDC and promise to provide leadership to ensure that sustainable growth is achieved.
The statement read further, “on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff, we thank the former MD/CEO and former CTO for their services to the organisation. I continue to count on you and your usual support to management and trust you will extend same commitment to Mr Fadeyibi and Engr Burkullu.
In a related development, Dr Tinuade Sanda has been appointed as the Acting CEO of Eko Electricity Distribution Company.
Until her appointment, Dr Sanda was the Deputy Managing Director of EKEDC.
